Turbocharger

A turbocharger is actually an air compressor that uses compressed air to increase the amount of intake air.It uses the inertial force of the exhaust gas from the engine to push the turbine in the turbine chamber. The turbine drives the coaxial impeller. The impeller presses the air sent by the air filter pipe to pressurize it into the cylinder. When the engine speed increases, the exhaust gas discharge speed and the turbine speed also increase, the impeller compresses more air into the cylinder, and the increase in air pressure and density can burn more fuel, correspondingly increase the fuel amount and adjust the engine speed. It can increase the output power of the engine.

The turbocharger has five main advantages:

Increase engine power.

By increasing the intake density while the engine displacement is constant, the engine can be injected more fuel, thereby increasing the power of the engine. In addition, the power and torque of the engine after adding the supercharger should be increased by 20%~30%. Conversely, under the same power output requirements, the cylinder bore of the engine can be reduced, and the size and weight of the engine can be reduced.

Improve engine emissions

The turbocharger engine reduces the displacement of harmful components such as particulate matter and nitrogen oxides in the engine exhaust by improving the combustion efficiency of the engine. This is an indispensable configuration for diesel engines to meet Euro II emission standards.

Provide the function of altitude compensation.

In some high-altitude areas, the higher the altitude, the thinner the air, the engine with a turbocharger can overcome the power drop of the engine caused by the thin air of the plateau.

Improve fuel economy and reduce fuel consumption.

Since the engine with turbocharger has better combustion performance, it can save 3%-5% of fuel.

High reliability and good matching characteristics, high transient response characteristics.
